DataTorrent grabs $15M in funding to help make sense of big data — fast

DataTorrent, which claims its software can process billions of events per second in Hadoop clusters, has received $15 million in Series B funding.
Singtel Innov8 led the round, with GE Ventures and others also taking part, bringing total funding to $23.8 million since the Santa Clara company launched in 2012 to perform analytics on structured and unstructured big data.
“Today’s investment will allow us to continue to innovate our platform and make data analytics accessible to enterprise customers at all levels and roles – data center operations, developers, data scientist and business analysts,” said Phu Hoang, DataTorrent’s co-founder and CEO, in a statement.
