Big data analytics from Henry Ford to 2014

Data analytics was born among the American industrialists of the late 1800s. Henry Ford is said to have studied and measured the pacing of the processes down the assembly line when the Model T was produced back in 1908. Before Ford, the American industrialist Frederick Winslow Taylor carried out time management analysis to improve efficiency during his time at Pennsylvania’s Bethlehem Steel back in 1898. Fast forward to 2013 and all the big ‘big data’ (big(s) plural intended) vendors have a data analytics platform of some shape or form.
