BARCELONA: HP has made its Autonomy Idol big data platform available in the cloud in order to broaden access to its capabilities.
Idol, which stands for Intelligent Data Operating Layer, was one of the tools HP brought on board from its acquisition of Autonomy in 2011. It forms a key part of its Haven suite of big data offerings, that also includes the recently updated Vertica platform and security tool ArcSight.
Now HP is hoping to broaden the appeal and use of Idol by opening up web APIs that developers can access under an Early Access Program, as HP explained on the sign-up page for the service.
