Shelston IP Partner Mark Vincent and Senior Associate Katrina Crooks have worked with IT News to release a research paper entitled: ‘Big Data: Legal Challenges”, exploring the extent to which Big Data can be protected as a commercial asset, and the concerns it poses in the privacy sphere. The authors consider the challenges big data poses to legal notions of copyright, confidentiality and privacy, looking at particular issues around data scraping and licensing. The IT News page featuring the paper can be found here.

IT News has also published an article featuring Mark Vincent called “Big data linked to inevitable privacy breaches”, focussing on the privacy aspects of the paper. Click here to view this article.
